Job summary

Hamad Bin Abdullah Al-Manea Company is seeking a qualified physician to support surgeons and responsible physicians in providing medical and surgical care. You will participate in preparation for procedures, coordinate with the medical team, and monitor patients before and after operations, ensuring patient safety and adherence to standards.

You will assist during surgeries, manage operating room setup, and maintain infection control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery is required.
• Registered with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Experience in surgery or operating rooms is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of infection control and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ conditions and prepare for surgical operations.
• Review medical history, tests, and imaging studies.
• Assist the surgeon during operations within scope.
• Prepare OR, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Monitor vital signs during and after procedures.
• Provide post-procedure medical and nursing care as required.
• Report complications and ensure wound care and dressing integrity.
• Document procedures and medical notes in the patient file.
• Explain instructions to patients before and after procedures.

Job description

Job Purpose:

To support the surgeon and the responsible physician in providing medical and surgical care to patients, participate in the preparation for surgical procedures and operations, and monitor patients before and after surgery, while adhering to patient safety standards, infection control, and approved medical regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ conditions and prepare them before surgical operations and procedures.
• Review relevant medical history, examinations, tests, and imaging studies.
• Assist the surgeon during surgical operations and procedures within the scope of authority and specialty.
• Prepare the patient, operating room, equipment, and supplies required for the procedure.
• Monitor the patient’s vital signs and health status during and after procedures.
• Provide supportive medical and nursing care to patients after procedures according to specialty and authority.
• Monitor wounds, dressings, and surgical sites, and report any complications or abnormal changes.
• Carry out medical instructions and prescribe or administer medications within the approved professional scope.
• Document procedures and medical notes in the patient’s medical file.
• Explain medical instructions to the patient before and after procedures, and ensure the patient understands care and follow-up instructions.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and members of the medical team.
• Strictly comply with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety procedures.
• Contribute to handling emergency cases and surgical complications according to approved protocols.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patients’ information and adhere to professional ethics.
• Perform any other medical tasks related to the job as directed by the responsible physician and the medical administration.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery.
• Valid professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Previous experience in the field of surgery or operating rooms is preferred.
• Good knowledge of surgical procedures and the principles of infection control and patient safety.
• Ability to work within a medical team and under work pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with patients and the medical team.
