Requirements include a dental degree, an OMFS specialty, and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties registration as Consultant, with extensive maxillofacial experience and strong communication and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in dentistry and dental surgery.
• Recognized specialty qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Valid professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as Consultant of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Professional experience in maxillofacial surgery.
• Advanced skills in diagnosis and clinical decision-making.
• Excellent communication and patient-handling skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary medical team.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose surgical cases related to the mouth, face, and jaws.
• Develop appropriate surgical treatment plans based on the patient’s medical condition.
• Perform surgical procedures within the scope of the specialty and professional classification.
• Handle complex cases and assess cases requiring specialized surgical intervention.
• Follow up with patients before and after procedures.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and manage complications.
• Coordinate with dentists and other medical specialties for shared-care cases.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose surgical cases related to the mouth, face, and jaws.

• Develop appropriate surgical treatment plans based on the patient’s medical condition.

• Perform surgical procedures within the scope of the specialty and professional classification.

• Handle complex cases and assess cases that require specialized surgical intervention.

• Follow up with patients before and after surgical procedures and operations.

• Evaluate treatment outcomes and manage complications when they occur.

• Coordinate with dentists and other medical specialties for cases that require shared care.

• Document diagnosis, treatment plan, and medical procedures in the medical file.

• Provide health awareness and medical guidance to patients and their families.

• Comply with infection control standards, patient safety, and the facility’s policies.

• Provide medical supervision and guidance when needed, in accordance with granted authorities and the approved scope of practice.

• Comply with the regulations and professional standards approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in dentistry and dental surgery, or an equivalent qualification.

• A recognized specialty qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

• Valid professional classification and registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties under the title of Consultant of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

• Appropriate professional experience in the field of maxillofacial surgery.
