Job summary

Mekdam Technical Services in Qatar is seeking a senior Commissioning Engineer with extensive experience on large Oil and Gas projects, including offshore work. The role requires leading commissioning activities, coordinating with EPC contractors, and ensuring smooth handover to Operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering, with 8 years in the field and 3 years in supervisory roles. Proficiency in P&IDs and datasheets is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in applied sciences or engineering.
• 8+ years in large oil and gas projects with commissioning exposure.
• 3+ years supervising personnel and coordinating with vendors.
• Knowledge of contract requirements, codes and standards.
• Experience in pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover processes.
• Strong ability to read P&IDs, datasheets and GA drawings.
• Experience with LNG industry vendors and offshore environments.
• Good English communication skills; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissioning execution and handover processes (MC, RFC, RFSU).
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance and EPC contractors.
• Oversee interface coordination and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and LOTO procedures.
• Support start-up and handover to Operations.

Job description

Qualifications*

Bachelor Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience*

8 years experience with large project in Oil and Gas industry, including 3 years of commissioning experience with industrial engineer exposure (E&I, Mechanical, Piping) and 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, acting roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
Knowledge in compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards, and contract technical specification compliance.
Knowledge in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
Expert in reading P&IDs, Datasheets, General Arrangement drawings and procedures.
Experience with vendors operating in the LNG industry, such as compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides, etc.
Proven experiences for managing commissioning execution and completion and handover process including MC, RFC, RFSU and final Handover.
Strong experience coordinating with Operations and Maintenance organizations during project transition phase
Familiar with LOTO procedures and HSE standards for commissioning
Experience of handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.
Experience in start-up support and handover to Operation.
Experience in offshore environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.(particulary Excel, PPT)
Ability to communicate with Contractor's team and obtain required information as requested.
Experienced with Interface coordination and support activities and documentation.
