Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a project engineer to drive control and protection scope across substation automation projects. You will perform hardware/software testing and support commissioning for PCM600 configurations, collaborating with the PM and SCADA engineer.

The role emphasizes hands-on execution, cross-functional teamwork, and travel across Portugal. Strong communication in Portuguese and English is required, with a focus on delivering safe, high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

Engineering Diploma required or equivalent
Proven experience in control & protection engineering
Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills
Analytical and strategic approach
Proficiency in Portuguese and English; willingness to travel in Portugal

Responsibilities

Carry out testing and commissioning for Protection and Control IEDs in transmission and distribution substations
Develop protection and control concepts with project core team
Collaborate with engineering and project management for site works
Obtain approvals from utilities for commissioning activities
