Job summary

Hitachi Energy Portugal seeks a skilled Control and Protection Engineer to strengthen our Substation Automation projects. You will lead testing, configuration, and commissioning of Protection and Control IEDs, coordinating with project teams and customers to ensure safe, compliant implementations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, deliver high-quality engineering results, and travel within Portugal as required.

Qualifications

• Engineering Diploma is required.
• Minimum 5 years in control & protection engineering.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing and commissioning for configuration of Protection and Control IEDs.
• Develop protection and control concepts with the project team and customer.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management to execute site works effectively.
• Obtain approvals from utilities for commissioning activities of protection systems.
• Travel within Portugal as needed.
