Job summary

Hitachi Energy Portugal, S.A. is seeking a project engineer in Perafita, Portugal to strengthen our Substation Automation team.

You will contribute to the control and protection scope across transmission and distribution projects, coordinating with the project manager, SCADA engineer and customers to ensure successful delivery. The role involves testing, commissioning, and developing protection concepts, with travel within Portugal and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Engineering Diploma required.
• Experience in a control & protection engineer role; entry level considered.
• Strong communication and customer interface skills; multilingual a plus.
• Willingness to travel within Portugal.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission configuration of protection/control IEDs for transmission/distribution substations (PCM600).
• Develop protection and control concepts with the project core team.
• Coordinate with engineering and project management for site works.
• Obtain approvals from utilities for commissioning activities and testing schemes.
• Demonstrate safety and integrity in line with Hitachi Energy values.
