Job summary

Hitachi Energy Portugal, S.A. is seeking a Project Engineer to strengthen our Substation Automation team.

You will lead the control & protection scope across global substation automation projects, working with the project manager, SCADA engineer and customers to deliver successful outcomes. The role is based in Portugal with travel opportunities, requiring an engineering diploma and at least five years in a control & protection engineer role.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualification; Engineering Diploma.
• Proven experience in a control & protection engineer role, at least 5 years of experience.
• Excellent communication skills, customer interface skills multi priority and multi-tasking.
• Analytical and strategic approach.
• Proven communication and presentation skills in Portuguese and English.
• Willingness to travel in Portugal.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing & commissioning for the configuration of Protection and Control IEDs for transmission and distribution substations (main software: PCM600).
• Develop protection and control concepts for transmission and distribution systems with the project core team and customer.
• Maintain continuous interactions with engineering and project management to carry out site works effectively.
• Obtain approvals from utilities for commissioning activities of protection systems main and back up relays including scheme testing.
