Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Sales Specialist for Merchant Solutions in Europe, based in Lisbon, Portugal. You will support sales engagements across Europe, coordinating with Sales Directors, account managers, product teams, and regional stakeholders to translate customer needs into value-driven solutions.

The role combines commercial thinking with customer engagement and solution expertise in a fast-moving payments environment. English fluency is required, with additional European languages a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales support, business development, consulting, payments, fintech, product commercialization, or a related field.
• Understanding of payment gateways, payment processing, merchant services, fintech, or digital commerce is an advantage.
• Experience preparing business cases, customer proposals, and presentations.
• Fluency in English required. Additional European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales teams, account managers and customer solution architects in identifying, qualifying, and progressing Merchant Solutions opportunities.
• Develop customer presentations, business cases, proposals, and other sales materials.
• Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and solution discussions.
• Build and maintain knowledge of Mastercard's Merchant Solutions portfolio and industry trends.
• Help translate customer needs into solution-based recommendations and value propositions.
• Coordinate with Product, Pricing, Legal, Finance, Customer Success, and Implementation teams to support deal progression.
• Support pipeline management, forecasting, and sales reporting activities.
• Contribute market insights and customer feedback to help improve solution positioning and commercialization efforts.
• Assist with RFPs, customer information requests, and other commercial activities.
• Support the successful transition of opportunities from sales to implementation and onboarding teams.
