Job summary

Claranet is seeking a Category Manager in Lisbon with 5–8+ years in procurement, ideally in aerospace/high-tech. You will shape strategies, lead supplier negotiations and guide cross-functional teams across engineering, programme management and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, SCM, Business or related field.
• 5–8+ years of procurement experience in aerospace/defence/high-tech.
• Direct procurement, supplier management and strategic sourcing knowledge.
• Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Develops category strategies and executes complex procurement activities.
• Experience monitoring supplier performance, risk and compliance.
• Export Control regulations knowledge.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the procurement strategy for assigned categories in alignment with objectives and guidelines.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier mapping and technology scouting to identify opportunities and risks.
• Define and implement long-term category roadmaps and cost reduction initiatives.
• Select, negotiate with and manage strategic suppliers for cost, quality, delivery and compliance.
• Lead supplier evaluations, contract negotiations and long-term agreements.
• Drive supplier development and risk mitigation actions when required.
• Support space programmes by ensuring timely availability of materials and systems.
• Influence design-to-cost and make-or-buy decisions to optimise value.
• Ensure procurement deliverables and documentation throughout programme lifecycles.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including Export Control.
