Lever, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer – Pricing based in Portugal to build the Pricing API behind a modern energy transaction platform. You will own back-end systems, ensure fast, accurate quotes, and drive architectural decoupling and third-party access.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted workflows, reliability, and cross-team collaboration in a remote-first setting. You will lead pricing infrastructure, monitor and explain pricing outcomes, and influence technical direction across teams while

Qualificações

• Deep production experience with Python backend engineering and API ownership.
• Experience taking technical ownership of production systems and senior escalation points.
• Proven track record of decoupling, migration, or architectural transformation of live systems.
• Strong proficiency with FastAPI and SQL in data-intensive or analytics-heavy contexts.
• Experience designing systems prioritizing data accuracy, performance, and explainability.

Responsabilidades

• Build, evolve, and operate the Pricing API for fast, reliable, accurate quotes.
• Lead architecture migrations and decoupling across teams.
• Own pricing reliability with monitoring and alerting for pricing failures.
• Explain pricing outcomes and diagnose quote failures end-to-end.
• Improve pricing performance and reduce latency through architectural optimizations.
• Influence engineering direction across teams without formal authority.
