Job summary

Nordex in Portugal is seeking a field technician to perform maintenance on wind turbines and to detect faults, ensuring safe operation on site. The role requires travel, including nights away, and basic training readiness to keep systems running smoothly.

You will contribute to reliability through regular inspections, reporting, and close coordination with service teams. The ideal candidate has electrical and/or mechanical education, good English, and the ability to work at height, with

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical education is required or preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical or mechanical systems is valued.
• Teamwork and willingness to take responsibility are necessary.
• Travel willingness, including nights away, is required.
• Proficient computer skills with MS Office and internal tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow health & safety guidelines and work safely on site.
• Perform autonomous simple repairs of turbines and fault finding.
• Analyze defects with coordination by Service Coordinator.
• Carry out planned maintenance and inspections with subcontractors.
• Fill reports and checklists to inform Local Operation Manager.
• Check spare parts stock and manage on-site materials.
• Monitor service reports and steer service processes to book expenses correctly.

YOUR TASKS

• Keep all health & safety related instructions and guidelines
• Work safely for material and personnel
• Analyse defects with phone-contact to Service Coordinator.
• Autonomously simple repairs of turbines, troubleshooting and faultfinding.
• Carry out planned maintenance-/inspection-activities with subcontractors.
• Fill in reports and checklists in order to completely inform Local Operation Manager.
• Check inventory of spare parts stock and be responsible for material on site.
• Standard monitoring of booked service reports and steering of service process to book expenses correctly

YOUR PROFILE

• Electrical and/or mechanical education.
• Experience with hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems is valued, but it´s not mandatory.
• Teamwork, collaboration and willingness to take over responsibility.
• Willing to travel on regular basis, including nights away from home.
• Computer literate, able to use MS Office and in house database and workload management systems.
• Readiness for training.
• Able to work in high altitudes and to climb everyday some of our turbine.
• Good English language skills (read, write and speak fluently).
