Kuehne+Nagel Porto is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own Java-based application development and help shape the architecture of our logistics solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the full software lifecycle from concept to production while continuously improving our systems through modern tools and technologies.

This role targets an architecturally minded engineer with hands-on Java expertise and a passion for agile development, delivering scalable services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar.
• Strong experience in software architecture and Java development.
• Proficient with Maven, Jenkins and Git; experience with IntelliJ IDEA, Docker, OpenShift or AWS is a plus.
• Familiar with agile ways of working and proactive in improving processes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex systems.
• Excellent English communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsabilités

• Take technical ownership of application development with a strong focus on Java.
• Design and evolve service-oriented architectures for logistics.
• Drive the full development lifecycle: ideation, design, prototyping, implementation, and production integration.
• Collaborate with product owners and domain experts to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance performance and maintainability.
• Hands-on Java tech: Spring Boot, JPA, JUnit, Mockito; Swing/SWT is a plus.
