Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take technical ownership of Java-based application development and shape the architecture of logistics solutions. You will drive the full software lifecycle from concept to production and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust systems.

The role demands hands-on Java expertise, experience with Spring Boot, and a strong architectural mindset. Familiarity with Docker, OpenShift, AWS, and Agile practices is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years as software engineer or similar role.
• Strong experience in software architecture and Java development.
• Proficient with Maven, Jenkins, and Git; familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA, Docker, OpenShift, or AWS.
• Familiar with Agile and proactive process improvement.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex systems.
• Excellent English communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of Java-based application development and drive the full software lifecycle from concept to production.
• Design and evolve service-oriented architectures tailored to logistics applications.
• Collaborate with product owners and domain experts across business units to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance system performance and maintainability.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and mentor junior engineers.
