Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to own Java-based application development and shape the architecture of logistics solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the full software lifecycle from concept to production, continuously improving systems with modern tools and frameworks.

Ideal candidates have a strong architectural mindset, hands-on Java expertise, and experience in agile development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong experience in software architecture and Java development.
• Proficient with tools such as Maven, Jenkins, and Git; experience with IntelliJ IDEA, Docker, OpenShift, or AWS is a plus.
• Familiar with agile ways of working and proactive in improving processes.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex systems.
• Excellent English communication skills and a collaborative, knowledge-sharing mindset.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of Java-based application development and drive architecture of logistics solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to cover full software lifecycle from concept to production.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to improve performance and maintainability.
• Design and evolve service-oriented architectures tailored to logistics needs.
• Work with product owners and domain experts to align technical solutions with business needs.
