Job summary

SIXT is seeking an experienced (Senior) Machine Learning Engineer in Lisbon to turn models into scalable systems that price, forecast demand, and steer a large fleet. You’ll work with Data Scientists, run models in production, and shape the ML platform while it grows.

You will design features, manage training and serving workflows, and ensure robust, scalable ML deployments within a modern cloud-based stack.

Qualifications

• Shipped and operated ML systems in production for 3+ years.
• Fluent in Python, SQL and one additional language such as Go or Java.
• Experience with ML systems design, latency, cost and failure handling.
• Ability to collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build ML systems with Data Scientists from design to production.
• Own design and architecture of features, predictions, and training flow.
• Ensure safe model deployment with offline evaluation and shadow runs.
• Define healthy ML system criteria and automate checks/alerts.
• Bridge to MLOps, aligning platform standards with teams.
