Job summary

SIXT is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer in Lisbon to turn models into scalable systems. You will partner with Data Scientists to productionize models, shape the ML platform, and support end-to-end lifecycle from design to deployment.

You will own feature computation, serving, training, and retraining workflows, while ensuring safe, scalable operation and cross-team collaboration in English.

Qualifications

• Shipped and operated ML systems in production for 3+ years.
• Fluent in Python, SQL and one of Go or Java; able to read and debug production code.
• Design clean contracts between data, model and consumers; consider latency and cost.

Responsibilities

• Build ML systems with Data Scientists from design to production.
• Own design/architecture for feature computation and serving.
• Manage model lifecycle: offline eval, shadow runs, champion/challenger, rollback.
• Ensure reliable shipping and production quality; define health checks and alerts.
• Bridge to MLOps, drive platform standards, and improve tooling for future use cases.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Product and Engineering, communicating in English.
