Job summary

PowerTalent in Portugal is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to build and scale AI-driven engineering solutions that boost developer productivity across the SDLC.

You will own AI agent workflows, integrate with enterprise systems, and lead platform engineering and DevOps practices in production. The role requires 8+ years of software engineering, Python/TypeScript expertise, and strong autonomous work ethic; location in Lisbon, Braga or Coimbra.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with senior or lead responsibilities.
• Proven experience deploying AI agents in production, including orchestration, MCP and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong background in Platform Engineering, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP or equivalent) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
• Experience with internal developer platforms, CLIs or workflow engines.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools and a strong understanding of the SDLC.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior AI Platform Engineer to build and scale AI-driven engineering solutions that improve developer productivity across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

This role combines AI Engineering, Platform Engineering and DevOps. We are looking for a highly autonomous engineer with strong technical ownership and proven experience building and deploying AI agents in production environments. Experience limited to proof-of-concepts is not sufficient.

Key responsabilities

• Design and implement AI agent workflows and automation across the SDLC.
• Develop AI agents using orchestration, tool integration, MCP and context engineering.
• Implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails and quality controls.
