Job summary

HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to lead the build of an AI‑driven engineering platform. You will own complex technical challenges across Python, TypeScript and GCP, shaping developer experience and productivity.

The role is hybrid with 1 day per week on-site in Lisbon, Braga or Coimbra, and offers clear ownership, hands-on delivery, and collaboration with security and cloud teams. Start ASAP.

Senior AI Platform Engineer (Python/TypeScript/GCP) - Hybrid Lisbon, Braga or Coimbra (1 day/week office)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join a global leader in technology consulting and professional services, with deep capabilities in digital, cloud and security across more than 40 industries. You'll work on a strategic initiative to build and scale an AI-driven engineering platform that changes how software gets built, using AI agents to improve developer productivity across the whole software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through implementation, testing and production.

This is a hands‑on role for a senior engineer who wants real ownership. You'll take on complex technical challenges, weigh alternative solutions and drive implementation independently, working where AI engineering, platform engineering and developer experience meet.

Hybrid model: 1 day/week on‑site in Lisbon, Braga or Coimbra. Start ASAP (availability within 30 days).

PROJECT & CONTEXT

• Design and build agentic development workflows, tools and automation across the SDLC
• Develop and integrate AI agents, including orchestration, tool use, MCP servers and context engineering
• Implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails and quality checks so agent outputs are reliable
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and developer tooling
• Integrate AI-powered workflows with enterprise systems such as Jira, source control and CI platforms
• Improve engineering efficiency, reliability and developer experience at scale

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior or lead‑level responsibilities
• Proven experience building and deploying AI agents in production environments, including orchestration, MCP and evaluation frameworks (PoC-only or theoretical experience will not be considered)
• Strong background in Platform Engineering, DevOps and CI/CD
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or similar
• Experience developing internal developer platforms, CLIs or workflow engines
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end SDLC and developer productivity practices
• Hands‑on, day‑to‑day use of agentic coding tools in software development
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, technical ownership and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• English: C1 (Advanced) minimum
• Must be living in Portugal

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Familiarity with Kotlin, Go or Rust
• Experience with Cursor, Claude Code or similar AI development tools
• Knowledge graphs, static analysis or code intelligence tooling
• BDD/Cucumber, contract testing or mobile test automation (Maestro)
• Track record of improving engineering productivity through automation at scale

Compensation: €1,700 – €2,250/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
