Job summary

ANDINA in Lisbon, Portugal is seeking a Chefe de Sala / Restaurant Maître for a full-time, on-site role. You will oversee dining room operations, manage reservations, and lead the front-of-house team to ensure guest satisfaction while coordinating with the kitchen and maintaining high hygiene standards.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Strong Food Service skills, including table service and guest interaction.
• Solid culinary knowledge to explain menu items and support the team.
• Experience in Food Preparation and understanding kitchen timing for efficient service.
• Thorough knowledge of Hygiene standards and practices.
• Previous experience as Maître, Head Waiter, or similar leadership role in fine dining.
• Strong leadership, team management, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service; proficiency in English and Portuguese or Spanish is beneficial.
• Organizational skills and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dining room operations to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Manage reservations and coordinate table allocation.
• Supervise and support the front-of-house team and monitor service flow.
• Welcome and seat guests, present menus, and guide on dishes/beverages.
• Resolve guest inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with the kitchen, maintain hygiene, and train staff.
• Assist with daily opening and closing duties.
• Ensure adherence to restaurant standards and contribute to a positive dining experience.
