Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Engineering Manager based in Portugal to lead engineering teams building scalable technology for on-demand commerce. You will shape technical direction, collaborate with product managers and designers, and drive delivery across the full lifecycle in a remote, international environment.

You will mentor teams, promote best practices, and champion AI-assisted development to improve quality and velocity, while maintaining a culture of ownership and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in product-focused companies.
• Track record delivering complex software and initiatives in fast-paced settings.
• Strong collaboration with product managers and designers on discovery and prioritization.
• Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and guide technical decisions.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, balancing priorities, and owning outcomes.
• Demonstrated people management, coaching, and team development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineering teams, set expectations, provide feedback, and enable delivery.
• Drive product outcomes by partnering with PMs and designers throughout discovery to prioritization.
• Shape technical and product decisions, evaluating trade-offs for customer impact and sustainability.
• Oversee the full delivery lifecycle from planning to deployment and post-launch learning.
• Ensure predictable delivery by managing dependencies and identifying risks early.
• Guide technical direction and maintain engineering standards for scalable software.
• Improve practices with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and code reviews.
• Promote AI-assisted development to enhance productivity and quality.
• Collaborate across squads and stakeholders to align priorities with business goals.
• Foster a high-performance, inclusive culture focused on learning and excellence.
