Intermedia is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a software development team, delivering scalable backend services and data-driven insights. You will partner with Product, AI/ML, Data, and DevOps to translate strategy into engineering execution while building a high-performing, inclusive team.

The role combines strong software development experience with people leadership in a rapidly evolving AI environment, with primary remote work and occasional visits to Coimbra/Aveiro and potential

Qualificações

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams responsible for developing and operating production software.
• Strong technical foundation in backend software development, APIs, distributed systems and cloud architectures.
• Experience with full lifecycle software development, planning to production operations.
• Ability to manage priorities, dependencies, risks and delivery across complex initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers.
• Own the team's execution across the software development lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Translate product strategy into engineering priorities and deliverables with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Establish sound architecture and approaches for scalable backend services and data processing.
• Drive predictable delivery by clarifying priorities, removing obstacles and managing risks.
• Ensure quality, reliability, performance, security and observability of solutions.
• Foster engineering practices: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and production readiness.
• Support career growth and coaching for engineers; recruit and onboard talent.
