Job summary

Claranet Portugal is seeking an experienced Application Support Technician to join our Talent Team remotely in Portugal. The role focuses on supporting and optimizing business applications across Windows and Linux environments, with strong emphasis on database troubleshooting (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL scripting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Around 3 years of experience in Application Support roles.
• Solid experience with MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server databases.
• At least 1 year of experience creating and executing SQL scripts and queries.
• At least 1 year of experience with Java, Python, or Shell scripting/programming.
• At least 1 year of experience working with Windows and Linux environments.
• At least 1 year of experience using ticketing tools for incident and request management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support, troubleshooting incidents and service requests.
• Monitor and maintain business applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Analyze and resolve issues related to databases, integrations, and application workflows.
• Execute and optimize SQL queries and scripts to support application maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Support environments running on Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Work with MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Use ticketing tools to manage incidents, service requests, and escalations according to defined SLAs.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application support processes.
