Job summary

Stratio in Coimbra is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to own firmware on the Databox, bridging software and hardware for real-time tachograph data collection in vehicles. You will develop C/C++ firmware on an RTOS, work with J1939/J1587 automotive protocols, assist hardware bring-up, and collaborate across teams to design robust solutions.

Qualifications

BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
Proven embedded systems development experience with C/C++.
Experience debugging RTOS-based ARM microcontrollers.
Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics.
Knowledge of unittesting and CI methodologies.
Familiarity with version control systems.
Experience translating requirements into technical solutions.
Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

Firmware development on the Databox RTOS in C/C++.
Translate product requirements into technical designs.
Debug hardware/software across target with tools and automotive protocols such as J1939/J1587.
Support hardware bring-up and design with the hardware team.
Code reviews and design discussions.
Improve development tools, infrastructure and document work.
