Job summary

Addvolt in Porto, Portugal seeks an Embedded Firmware Engineer to design and implement firmware for Telematics and IoT projects, with a focus on modular, reusable code and low‑level hardware interfaces.

You will work across hardware and software teams to develop drivers and features for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex‑M), validate through testing, and apply debugging techniques, scripting, and security best practices to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Embedded C programming on embedded systems (3+ years).
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (e.g. ARM Cortex-M).
• Knowledge of CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, and TCP/IP.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Experience debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate across hardware and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Working on Telematics and IoT projects, collecting and processing data and communicating with backend services.
• Designing, implementing, and validating firmware features across multiple projects.
• Developing reusable drivers and modules for firmware architectures and power electronics control.
