Job summary

Stratio Automotive is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to join the Embedded Systems & Hardware team in Coimbra. You will own firmware for the Databox, turning vehicle data into insights for real-time AI systems.

You’ll work at the intersection of software and hardware, developing multi-threaded C/C++ firmware on an RTOS, and engage in hardware bring-up, debugging, and system-level design decisions.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• Proven experience in embedded systems development with C/C++.
• Experience debugging embedded systems with an RTOS on ARM-based microcontrollers.
• Working knowledge of analogue and digital electronics.
• Knowledge of unit testing and CI methodologies.
• Familiarity with version control systems.
• Experience translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug C/C++ firmware on the Databox RTOS.
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and architectures.
• Debug on target using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and CAN/serial tools; support hardware bring-up.
• Review code and participate in design discussions to improve quality.
• Improve tools, test infrastructure, and document the firmware lifecycle.
