Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise software development.
• Proficient in Python 3.9+ and its ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID, Clean Code and TDD.
• Experience building reusable Python packages.
• Hands-on CI/CD with GitLab, Jenkins, and related tools.
• English language proficiency mandatory.

We are looking for a Python Developer

Main Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust Python solutions following enterprise development standards and best practices.
• Contribute to technical architecture, solution design, and software engineering decisions in collaboration with architects, Product Owners, and Technical Leads.
• Industrialize software development through the implementation of Design Patterns, Clean Code principles, TDD, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Optimize application performance, including parallel processing, distributed computing, and large-scale data processing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.
• Translate business and functional requirements into efficient technical solutions.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Ensure software quality through automated testing, documentation, and code quality controls.
• Contribute to Data Engineering activities, including data processing, data quality, and data exploration.
• Support team collaboration, onboarding of new team members, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Skills & Requirements

• Strong experience in enterprise software development and software engineering practices.
• Advanced expertise in Python (3.9+) and its ecosystem, including NumPy, Pandas, Jupyter, VS Code, and Anaconda.
• Proven experience in performance optimization, parallel computing, and distributed processing using technologies such as Dask, Spark, CUDA, and CuPy.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, Design Patterns, SOLID principles, Clean Code, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience developing and maintaining reusable Python packages.
• Solid experience with Git, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, HashiCorp Vault, Artifactory, JFrog, and Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with code quality and security tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, and Nexus IQ.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Netezza databases.
• Experience with cloud/object storage technologies including S3, Boto3, IBM COS, and MinIO.
• Ability to understand business requirements and transform them into technical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Professional proficiency in English (mandatory).
• Availability to travel within Portugal and internationally when required.
• This role offers a gross annual salary between 31.000€ to 45.000€, defined according to the candidate’s experience and competencies.
