QUANTEAM (Groupe RAINBOW PARTNERS) in Porto is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer – P&L Systems to join a modernization project in the Risk department, building a platform for loading, certifying, and publishing the bank’s P&L results.

You will develop backend services with Java and Spring Boot, design data workflows, work with SingleStore DB, Kafka and OpenShift, and apply TDD/BDD in an Agile environment, contributing to performance, reliability and continuous improvement.

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer – P&L Systems

Join a modernization project within the Risk department, developing a platform responsible for loading, certifying, and publishing the bank’s Profit & Loss (P&L) results.

Main Tasks

• Develop and modernize backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to the redesign of core P&L processing and data integration workflows.
• Work with SingleStore DB, Kafka, and OpenShift as part of the platform’s modernization.
• Analyze application requirements and deliver reliable solutions aligned with software development best practices.
• Build and maintain automated tests in an Agile and TDD environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, application performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Your Profile and Skills

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases, such as SQL Server or Sybase.
• Strong experience developing automated tests using TDD and/or BDD approaches.
• Experience with distributed data technologies, such as Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, or Kafka, is highly valued.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers, ETL processes, and CI/CD is highly valued.
• Previous experience or knowledge of Financial Services is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, a proactive attitude, and an innovative mindset.
• Fluency in English, with a minimum B2 level required.
• French language skills are a plus.
• Position based in Porto.
