Job summary

Quanteam, the founding entity of RAINBOW PARTNERS, is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer for P&L Systems in Porto. You will develop and modernize backend services using Java and Spring Boot within a risk-focused platform.

You will redesign P&L processing, integrate with Kafka, OpenShift, and relational databases, contribute to automated testing in an Agile, TDD environment, and participate in the full software lifecycle. Fluency in English (B2+) is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS, SE, or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid SQL skills with relational DBs (SQL Server or Sybase).
• Experience with automated tests using TDD and/or BDD.
• Experience with distributed data technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Kafka) is valued.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers, CI/CD is valued.
• English fluency (min B2); French is a plus.
• Position based in Porto.

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer – P&L Systems

Join a modernization project within the Risk department, developing a platform responsible for loading, certifying, and publishing the bank’s Profit & Loss (P&L) results.

• Develop and modernize backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to the redesign of core P&L processing and data integration workflows.
• Work with SingleStore DB, Kafka, and OpenShift as part of the platform’s modernization.
• Analyze application requirements and deliver reliable solutions aligned with software development best practices.
• Build and maintain automated tests in an Agile and TDD environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, application performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
