Batgroup, the company behind Batmaid and PFA, is seeking a PHP Developer to join our engineering team in Warsaw or Lisbon (hybrid) and help build the platforms and backend services at the heart of Batmaid and PFA.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain the web applications and services our customers and cleaning teams rely on every day, working closely with product, data, and operations to ship solutions that are scalable, reliable, and a pleasure to use.

Qualificações

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on PHP development experience.
• Clear, understandable, maintainable code.
• Experience writing tests: unit, integration, end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Solid grounding in SOLID, OOP, and Git.
• Working knowledge of Symfony and English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, test, and maintain dynamic web applications and backend services in PHP and Symfony.
• Write clear, well-tested code with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled PHP Developer to join our engineering team in Warsaw or Lisbon (hybrid) and help build the platforms and backend services at the heart of Batmaid and PFA. You will design, develop, test, and maintain the web applications and services our customers and cleaning teams rely on every day, working closely with product, data, and operations to ship solutions that are scalable, reliable, and a pleasure to use.

AI-assisted development is simply part of how we work. The team uses modern AI tooling to move faster through the routine parts of the job, which frees up time and attention for what actually matters: clean architecture, sound problem-solving, and high-quality code. We are pragmatic about it. We reach for these tools where they genuinely add value, and we keep human judgement firmly in charge.

What You Will Do

• Develop, test, and maintain dynamic web applications and backend services in PHP and Symfony
• Write clear, well-tested, maintainable code, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Apply SOLID principles and sound object‑oriented design to keep our systems clean as they scale
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across product, data, and operations to turn business needs into working software
• Use AI‑assisted development thoughtfully, to raise both your speed and the quality of what you ship
• Contribute to architecture decisions and help raise the engineering bar across the team

Requirements

What we are looking for

• 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience building applications in PHP
• A genuine habit of writing clear, understandable, and maintainable code
• Confidence writing tests across the stack: unit, integration, and end‑to‑end
• Strong knowledge of and experience in Domain‑Driven Design (DDD)
• A good grounding in SOLID principles, object‑oriented programming, and Git
• Working knowledge of Symfony
• Very good command of English (our working language)

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems and microservice design
• Familiarity with CQRS or similar architectural patterns
• Experience designing and building REST APIs
