ITDS Portugal is seeking a Porto-based Mid-Level Application Support Engineer for a hybrid role with a client. The position focuses on maintaining Linux and Windows environments, automating tasks, and supporting databases and middleware to ensure system stability and performance.

Candidate should have at least 3 years in a similar role, strong scripting skills, experience with monitoring tools, and fluency in English and Portuguese.

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years in systems administration or application support.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience with scheduling tools like BMC/Control-M.
• Proficient in Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases.
• Familiar with monitoring tools like Zabbix or Grafana.
• Basic networking knowledge and infrastructure awareness.
• Very good English (min B2) and Portuguese fluent.

Responsabilidades

Porto-based Mid-Level Application Support Engineer role for a client of ITDS Portugal. Hybrid work model.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support Linux and Windows environments to ensure optimal system performance and stability.
• Automate tasks and improve processes using scripting languages such as Shell, Python, and PowerShell.
• Manage and troubleshoot databases including Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and MySQL; solid understanding of SQL.
• Oversee infrastructure backups and recovery procedures.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as Zabbix or Grafana to detect, analyze, and resolve system issues proactively.
• Manage and maintain infrastructure components including LDAP, Firewall, Reverse proxy, Active Directory, and Kerberos.
• Collaborate on container-based infrastructure projects and implement best practices for deployment and scaling.
• Support and optimize middleware platforms like JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, and IIS.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in systems administration or application support roles.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows environments and system management.
• Experience with BMC/Control-M or other industrial schedulers.
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Zabbix or Grafana.
• Basic networking knowledge and understanding of infrastructure components.
• Good command of English (minimum B2). Portuguese fluent is also required.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of LDAP, Firewall, Reverse proxy, Active Directory, and Kerberos.
• Experience with container orchestration and infrastructure automation.
• DevOps mindset and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
