Mercor seeks a native Malayalam speaker for detailed document annotation and transcription tasks. You will verify Malayalam content on PDFs, mark every region, and ensure reading order reflects page layout with careful, character-accurate transcription.

Strong emphasis on accuracy and handling complex layouts is essential. The role requires meticulous work on handwritten and multi-column documents, with rigorous QA by a second Malayalam expert to ensure first-pass correctness.

Qualificações

• Native Malayalam speaker with full command of the script and orthography.
• Exquisite attention to diacritics and conjunct forms.
• Experience with document annotation, transcription, localization, QA, or related tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Open and verify source PDFs, confirm Malayalam content is legible and contains real content.
• Annotate structure by bounding every meaningful region (title, heading, paragraph, list, table, figure, caption, formula, question, answer field) and assign type and reading order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Malayalam script, including handwritten content, and flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Review colleagues’ work through a second Malayalam expert to ensure accuracy on first pass.
