Mercor is seeking a meticulous Bengali annotation specialist to annotate and transcribe Bengali documents with exacting accuracy. You will bind page regions, determine reading order across columns, and link related elements to their figures or tables, while faithfully reproducing every character in Bengali script.

Qualificações

• Native Bengali speaker with full command of Bengali script and orthography.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, localization, or document review is preferred.
• Exactness and character-level accuracy are critical in this role.
• Ability to apply a consistent taxonomy across hundreds of pages.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Responsabilidades

• Open and verify tasks: confirm page is Bengali, legible, contentful, and without personal details.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning component types and reading order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce Bengali script exactly, flag unreadable areas.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, page dimensions, and flags for tables and handwriting.
• Review colleagues' work in a two-expert workflow to ensure quality.
