Job summary

Eidosmedia in Porto is seeking a Linux Support Engineer to join the Hotline Support Team (Level 2). This shift-based role covers 24/7 support with rotations, delivering first-class technical assistance for our products with Linux, Tomcat/Nginx/Apache stack, and scripting on UNIX/Linux.

You will troubleshoot remotely, guide customers, and collaborate with global teams across France, Germany, the USA, UK, Australia, and Portugal to ensure reliable operation and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Computer engineering/CS degree or IT diploma required.
• Strong knowledge of Linux Server.
• Experience with Web/App servers (Tomcat, Nginx, Apache).
• Basic knowledge of HA frameworks (Veritas/Monit/RHCS).
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze log files.
• Proficient in Bash or Python on UNIX/Linux.
• Good English and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers via phone or email, providing first-level support.
• Perform remote troubleshooting and investigate user problems, coordinating with support teams to advise on action.
• Operate in a 24/7 shift-based support environment with rotating morning/afternoon shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.
