Hexa Consulting is seeking a Security Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure security and systems operations in the healthcare and insurance services sector, focusing on Windows and Linux environments in Lisbon, Portugal.

You will contribute to stability, protection and continuous optimization by performing hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, incident investigations and cross-functional collaboration with IT teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in security engineering or related field.
• Academic background in Computer Engineering or related area, at bachelor’s or master’s level.
• Structured, methodical and analytical troubleshooting approach.

We are looking for a Security Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure security and systems operations in the healthcare and insurance services sector, contributing to the stability, protection and continuous optimization of Windows and Linux environments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure security activities.
• Perform structured incident investigation, problem analysis and root-cause identification to support timely resolution.
• Support the operation, administration and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux systems across enterprise infrastructure.
• Execute technical changes in line with established procedures, change-management practices and documentation standards.
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders during support, investigation and resolution activities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 1 to 3 years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure support, systems administration or a similar technical field.
• Academic background in Computer Engineering or a related area, preferably at Bachelor’s or Master’s level.
• Structured, methodical and analytical approach to troubleshooting and technical problem solving.
• Customer-oriented mindset, attention to detail and responsibility when working with security-sensitive infrastructure.
• Proactive attitude, with willingness to investigate, learn independently and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Fluency in Portuguese and professional working proficiency in English at B2 level or above.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Cybersecurity principles.
• Infrastructure hardening, patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Structured technical troubleshooting and problem analysis.
• Change-management procedures and technical documentation practices.

NICE TO HAVE

• Basic scripting or automation knowledge using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
