Job summary

A multinational company in Lisbon is seeking an Accounting Assistant to maintain financial records and ensure compliance with financial legal requirements. Responsibilities include analyzing balance sheets, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, as well as a strong understanding of financial statements and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with SAP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.
• Strong understanding of financial statements.
• Detail oriented with high level of accuracy.
• Some experience in SAP (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
• Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
• Provides financial status information by preparing special reports.
• Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; ensure confidentiality of financial information.
• Accomplish accounting tasks related to AR/AP ledgers, depreciation and accruals.

Are you willing to take these responsibilities?

• Maintains financial records by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
• Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
• Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
• Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
• Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with financial legal requirements.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

• Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel;
