Pestana Hotel Group in Portugal is seeking a mid-level IT Service Analyst to own and maintain our on-premises infrastructure and core Microsoft services, including virtualization, storage, backup, identity, SQL Server and Microsoft 365.

You will operate VMware vSphere/ESXi, manage storage and backups, administer Active Directory, Entra ID, GPO, DNS, and Windows Server, and monitor Azure/M365 usage and licensing.

Qualificações

• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and enterprise storage/backup.
• Strong knowledge of identity services: Active Directory and Entra ID/ADSync.
• Proficient with Windows Server, DNS, and core network concepts.
• Experience administering SQL Server and Microsoft 365.
• Awareness of Azure/M365 cost management and reporting.
• Good English and Portuguese communication and coordination skills.

Responsabilidades

We are looking for a mid-level IT Service Analyst to join our internal IT team and take ownership of our on-premises infrastructure and core Microsoft services: virtualisation, storage, backup, identity, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365. You will keep these critical platforms healthy, secure, and available, acting as the internal reference point and coordinating with our service partners and Microsoft Support.

What you will do

• Operate the virtualisation environment (VMware vSphere / ESXi; Hyper-V an advantage), including VM lifecycle, provisioning, and monitoring.
• Support enterprise storage and backup systems, ensuring reliable backups, restores, and data protection.
• Administer identity and access services: Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, ADSync / Entra Connect, and GPO.
• Manage core network services (particularly DNS) and the related Windows Server infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), including user lifecycle and licensing.
• Track and optimise Azure / M365 consumption, budgets, and cloud costs.
• Coordinate incidents and service requests with service partners and Microsoft Support through to resolution, keeping documentation and runbooks up to date.

What we are looking for

• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi (Hyper-V an advantage) and with enterprise storage and backup solutions.
• Strong knowledge of identity services: Active Directory, Entra ID, ADSync / Entra Connect, and GPO.
• Good understanding of Windows Server and core network services, particularly DNS (DHCP an advantage).
• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft 365.
• Awareness of cloud cost management (Azure / M365 consumption, budgets, reporting).
• Comfortable coordinating with external providers and vendor support; organised, clear communicator in English and Portuguese, able to work independently.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS) and hybrid cloud environments.
• Intune, Conditional Access, MFA, endpoint management, or SCCM.
• Monitoring tools (CheckMK, Grafana), containers (Docker), or other clouds (AWS, OCI, Google Workspace).
• Scripting (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python) and certifications (VMware VCP, Microsoft 365 / Azure, ITIL Foundation).

You will have real ownership of core on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft services in a large, hybrid environment, working hands-on across virtualisation, storage, backup, identity, and databases with room to grow towards infrastructure, cloud, or identity specialisations.
