DataSmart is seeking a Windows System Administrator to join our hybrid team in Porto/Lisbon. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, manage AD/GPO/DNS/DHCP, and administer Azure AD in hybrid setups.

The role emphasizes automation with PowerShell and collaboration with networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams. You should have strong Windows expertise, virtualization experience, and familiarity with backup/DR solutions, monitoring tools, and Windows

Qualificações

• 3+ years (Mid) or 5+ years (Senior) of Windows System Administration experience.
• Bachelor level knowledge of Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
• Experience with Azure AD and hybrid identity management.
• Strong PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
• Experience with VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365/Exchange administration and Azure.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Acronis).
• Experience with monitoring tools (SCOM/SCCM, PR TG, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• English proficiency (B2).
• Portugal-based with hybrid work availability.

Responsabilidades

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments.
• Administer Windows Server OS (2016, 2019, 2022).
• Manage AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP and Windows domain services.
• Administer Azure AD and hybrid identity environments.
• Monitor server health and uptime; perform patching and maintenance.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Configure file/print servers and shared storage.
• Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Manage backup/DR and business continuity processes.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell scripting.
• Collaborate with networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks.
• Participate in incident response and on‑call support.

Join our team as a Windows System Administrator (Hybrid – Porto, Lisbon)!

What You’ll Do:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments.
• Administer Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022).
• Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and Windows domain services.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity environments.
• Monitor server health, system performance, and availability to ensure high uptime.
• Perform server patching, upgrades, and regular maintenance activities.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access controls.
• Configure and maintain file servers, print servers, and shared storage solutions.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network‑related issues.
• Implement security best practices, including system hardening, antivirus, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support Microsoft services such as IIS, Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Windows Failover Clustering, and certificate services.
• Collaborate with networking, cloud, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams on infrastructure projects.
• Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and on‑call support when required.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years (Mid) or 5+ years (Senior) of Windows System Administration experience.
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Windows authentication.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity management.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Exchange administration is an advantage.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Acronis).
• Experience with monitoring and management tools such as Microsoft System Center (SCOM/SCCM), PRTG, SolarWinds, or Zabbix.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of Windows security best practices, endpoint protection, patch management, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with storage technologies, SAN/NAS, and Windows file services.
• Familiarity with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and configuration management tools is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Microsoft certifications such as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/AZ-801), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or other relevant Microsoft certifications are considered an advantage.
• Professional English proficiency (minimum B2).
• Based in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model.
