Job summary

Decskill is growing and seeks a Production Support professional to ensure the availability and performance of production environments across Windows and Linux/Unix stacks. You will monitor, manage capacity, and support escalation in a global, Follow The Sun model.

You’ll work with middleware and databases, tailoring tools for monitoring, scheduling and automation. A strong ITIL foundation and scripting skills will help drive improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• System administration on Windows and Linux/Unix (IIS, .NET, WCF, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat).
• Experience with monitoring/scheduling tools (Geneos, Introscope, Dynatrace, Autosys, Dollar Universe).
• Scripting and development skills for administration and monitoring (Python, PERL, Shell, SQL).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (change, release, incident, problem management).
• Databases: SQL Server and Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Pro-actively monitor, manage and improve availability and performance of production environments.
• Provide escalation coverage in the “Follow The Sun” support model.
• Pro-actively manage the capacity of production applications.
• Customize production tools (monitoring, batch scheduling, backups, deployment tools, automation).
• Provide feedback and propose solutions to management on performance, capacity.
