Job summary

Talingual Ltd in Porto, Portugal, is seeking a German-speaking Senior Order-to-Cash Specialist to oversee the full O2C cycle, support timely collections, and ensure compliant finance operations.

You will handle end-to-end O2C tasks, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with Sales, Logistics, Treasury and Tax to optimise working capital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Experience in Accounts Receivable, O2C, or Finance Operations.
• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end O2C activities: order management, billing, collections, cash application and dispute resolution.
• Preparing and reviewing AR ageing reports, developing collection strategies and reducing DSOs.
• Building relationships with customers and internal stakeholders; negotiating payment terms.
• Ensuring compliance with audit requirements, SOX, internal controls, IFRS and tax.
• Identifying opportunities for process automation, standardisation and efficiency.
• Supporting month-end and quarter-end closing and reporting to senior management.
• Training and mentoring junior O2C specialists.
• Collaborating with Sales, Logistics, Treasury and Tax teams.

Location: Porto, Portugal

Salary: €2,000 gross per month, paid 14 times per year (€28,000 gross annually)

Meal allowance: €167.86 per month, paid 11 times per year

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 18:00

Our client is a global leader in diabetes technology, developing innovative insulin delivery systems that help simplify diabetes management and improve everyday life for patients and their families. They are looking for an experienced German-speaking Senior Order-to-Cash Specialist to oversee the full O2C cycle, support timely collections and ensure efficient, compliant finance operations.

The Role

You will combine hands-on operational responsibilities with team guidance, stakeholder management and process improvement. You will handle complex payment disputes, support financial reporting and mentor junior colleagues while helping the business optimise working capital.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and performing end-to-end O2C activities, including order management, billing, collections, cash application and dispute resolution.
• Preparing and reviewing accounts receivable ageing reports, developing collection strategies and reducing days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, resolving escalated disputes and negotiating payment terms.
• Ensuring compliance with audit requirements, SOX, internal controls, applicable accounting standards, IFRS and tax requirements.
• Identifying opportunities for process automation, standardisation and improved efficiency.
• Supporting month-end and quarter-end closing, account reconciliations and reporting to senior management.
• Training and mentoring junior O2C specialists.
• Working closely with Sales, Logistics, Treasury and Tax teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
• Fluency in German and English
• Experience in Accounts Receivable, O2C, or Finance Operations
• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables).
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is an advantage.
• Customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and capable of multitasking.
