Job summary

Bumatic in Porto, Portugal, seeks a hands-on Mechatronics hardware engineer to own the mechanical and electromechanical body of our robots. You will design structures, drivetrains, actuators, and thermal paths to meet requirements and regulatory needs while delivering robust prototypes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering mechatronic hardware.
• Detailed CAD designs with BOMs, drawings and assembly instructions.
• Define actuation hardware, cooling strategies and sensor integration.
• Hands-on lab testing and test reporting.
• Experience coordinating with external suppliers.

Job description

This is a full-time role aimed at designing the robot's mechanical and electromechanical body: structures, drivetrains, actuators and thermal paths that ensure compliance with requirements and regulations.

What you will do

• The complete detailed designs of our robotic solutions
• The delivery of our robot prototypes
• The experimental measurements, calculations and FEM simulations behind the system

What we are looking for

• A degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or other relevant field of study
• Professional experience in delivering mechatronic hardware
• Delivering detailed CAD designs, including BOMs, drawings and assembly instructions
• Defining actuation hardware, cooling strategies and integration of electronics and sensors
• Hands-on laboratory experience and test reporting
• Interaction with external suppliers

Nice to have

• Specific experience in autonomous robotics is beneficial
