Job summary

Bumatic manufactures cutting-edge robotics in Porto and is seeking a founding engineer to design the robot's mechanical and electromechanical body, including structures, drivetrains, actuators and thermal paths to ensure compliance with requirements and regulations.

You will deliver detailed CAD designs, BOMs, drawings and assembly instructions, define actuation hardware and cooling strategies, and integrate electronics and sensors while collaborating with external suppliers.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or other relevant field of study
• Professional experience in delivering mechatronic hardware
• Specific experience in autonomous robotics is beneficial

• The experimental measurements, calculations and finite element simulations behind the system
• Delivering detailed CAD designs, including BOMs, drawings and assembly instructions

Role description

This is a full‑time role starting from January 2027 and aimed at designing the robot's mechanical and electromechanical body: structures, drivetrains, actuators and thermal paths that ensure compliance with requirements and regulations.
