Job summary

BUMATIC in Porto, Portugal, seeks a Founding Robotics Engineer to own robot motion, including kinematic/dynamic modelling, and to design multi-stage control systems for its cutting-edge robotics platform.

The role is full-time and on-site, starting January 2027, with hands-on training, an equity-focused ESOP, and a fast-paced startup environment. A Master’s in a related field plus hands-on ROS 2/URDF experience is required.

Qualifications

• Master's in Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or related field.
• Professional experience delivering motion control for robots or automation systems.
• Hands-on experience with ROS 2, URDF and physics simulators (Gazebo, MuJoCo, Isaac Sim).
• Experience with additive manufacturing or fluid-material processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the robot's motion including kinematic and dynamic modelling.
• Design multi-stage control architectures for robotics.
• Coordinate motion with material flow for 3D concrete printing.
