Prozis is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design and delivery of advanced automation solutions across complex industrial processes in Braga, Portugal.

You will define architectures for integrating AMRs, conveyors, and robots, supervise tool development, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring project validation and reliability. A strong background in robotics brands and PLCs is essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in automation, robotics, or related roles.
• Proven track record leading complex automation projects from a technical standpoint.
• Solid experience with robotics brands (YASKAWA, KUKA, ABB, FANUC).
• Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming across multiple manufacturers (Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff).
• Experience with EPLAN and industrial communication protocols.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development and deployment of advanced automation solutions to optimize industrial processes.
• Define technical architectures integrating AMRs, conveyors, stacker cranes, and end-of-line robots.
• Create tools and algorithms to improve efficiency and productivity of automated systems.

The Role

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the development and implementation of complex automation solutions to optimize industrial processes;
• Defining the technical architecture for integrating multiple automation and robotics solutions, such as AMRs, conveyor systems, stacker cranes, and end-of-line robots, ensuring their correct implementation and operation;
• Creating and overseeing the development of advanced tools and algorithms to improve the efficiency and productivity of automated systems;
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to industrial automation, acting as a technical reference for the team;
• Ensuring the validation and reliability of software and hardware solutions in highly complex projects;
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers, contributing to their development;
• Participating in the definition of standards, best practices, and continuous improvement of the team's automation processes.

You

We expect you to hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Robotics Engineering, or a similar field, with a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in similar roles, including experience leading complex automation projects from a technical standpoint. You should have solid experience in Robotics (YASKAWA, KUKA, ABB, FANUC). Additionally, you should have:

• Advanced knowledge of Electricity, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics;
• Proficiency in PLC programming across multiple manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Omron, and Beckhoff);
• Advanced knowledge of EPLAN;
• Solid experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, MQTT, EtherCAT, ProfiNET);
• Proficiency in Robotics/Automation simulation software;
• Experience in the technical management of highly complex automation projects, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
