Job summary
Moniepoint Inc. in Portugal seeks an Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional teams delivering scalable software products. You will own planning, translate requirements into EPICs and stories, and drive on-time delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.
You will partner with product, design, and QA to refine the backlog, plan sprints, and ensure measurable product health through robust monitoring and SLIs/SLOs. Strong Java/Spring Boot and leadership experience are required.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years as a software developer/engineer.
- ≥3 years in engineering leadership.
- 5+ years building production systems with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong Agile experience with sprint planning and backlog refinement.
- Ability to translate complex product requirements into EPICs, user stories, and tasks.
- Solid backend focus; frontend exposure a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery across cross-functional teams.
- Translate requirements into EPICs and technical stories.
- Prioritize backlog with product managers.
- Plan and drive sprint execution with defined goals.
- Maintain high engineering standards including code reviews.
- Monitor SLIs/SLOs and system health.
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies and stakeholder alignment.
