CEiiA / Centre Of Engineering And Product Development is seeking a Backend Developer for Real-Time Systems in Oeiras, Portugal. You will contribute to CI/CD, JVM-based development, and cloud-native solutions, with emphasis on clean architecture and scalable design.

Qualifications

• Degree or master's degree in computer science or related field
• At least 3 years of software development experience
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages (Java, Go, others)
• Experience with JVM-based frameworks
• Strong knowledge of RESTful, RPC or GraphQL APIs
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Proficient with Git
• Experience with message brokers and event streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ or NATS)
• Ability to write clean, scalable code with best practices (TDD, DDD, clean architecture)
• Ability to design and implement unit and integration tests
• Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Adaptability and collaborative working style
• Good spoken and written English
• Decision making and team management

Job description

Responsibilities

• Apply continuous integration (CI) strategies and platforms, as well as automated testing tools and procedures
• Prepare and maintain development documentation
• Ensure that software development complies with established requirements, including but not limited to security, scalability, and performance.
• Actively contribute to product design, technical architecture, and implementation, while adhering to CEiiA's software development standards and processes
• Develop software using Java and cloud-based solutions

• Degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related areas
• At least 3 years of experience in software development
• Proficiency in any OOP languages and derivates (Java, Go, others)
• Experience developing with JVM-based Frameworks
• Solid knowledge in API RESTful, RPC or GraphQL
• Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Proficient in using Git for version control
• Experience with message brokers and event streaming systems (e.G. Kafka, RabbitMQ or NATS)
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, performant, and scalable code, with a strong emphasis on best practices and architectural patterns (TDD, DDD, clean architecture)
• Capacity to design and implement unit and integration tests
• Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
• Structured, self-organized and collaborative way of working
