Job summary

KCS IT in the Lisbon area is seeking an amazing Backend Developer specialized in Go to design, implement and test backend services for diverse clients. You will work in a hybrid setup in Lisbon, with weekly on-site presence and collaboration across teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on Go experience, strong database and messaging skills, and solid knowledge of AWS, CI/CD, and IaC. English proficiency and fluent Portuguese are required to thrive in our multilingual environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in Computer Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of experience with Golang (Go).
• Comfortable designing and implementing unit and integration tests.
• Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
• Knowledge of non-relational databases, such as Redis/Valkey and DynamoDB.
• Experience with messaging systems, such as Kafka and/or AWS SQS.
• Experience working with AWS cloud services, such as Lambda and S3.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience or knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture
• Knowledge of DDD (Domain-Driven Design) and/or Clean Architecture
• Experience participating in code reviews and working collaboratively within development teams
• Good knowledge of software security best practices, logging, metrics, and monitoring
• Good level of English and fluent in Portuguese
• The candidate has to be based in Portugal and open to a hybrid position in Lisbon (1x per week).
