Job summary

EVPConnect is seeking a Senior Back End Developer to join its Lisbon/Porto teams. The role focuses on building back-end web services and APIs that support AI projects, collaborating closely with data scientists and other developers.

You will design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices using Java, GoLang, Docker and Kubernetes while adhering to SCRUM practices in a hybrid work model (40% office, 60% remote) in Portugal.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in backend development with Java and GoLang; strong knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience with REST APIs and API lifecycle management is required.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM practices and modern DevOps tools.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Build full stack web applications and APIs delivering AI/ML solutions via GoLang.
• Analyze, design, and coordinate development of web apps and APIs.
• Contribute to team dynamics and continuous improvement within the development group.
• Create technical and design documentation for internal use.
• Advise on architecture choices and state-of-the-art frameworks.

Job Description

The Back-End Web Developer is responsible for the development of a wide range of modern web solutions to deliver artificial intelligence projects, mainly on the back-end part of the stack.
He/she will design, develop, modify, and support in-house applications, working hand-in-hand with the data scientists and developers of the analytics consulting team.

Responsibilities

• Build full stack web applications and APIs in GoLang that deliver Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions to end users (expert);
• Analyze, design, coordinate and supervise the development of web applications and APIs (expert);
• Be an active member of the Development Team to contribute to team dynamics, ways of working and assisting with improvement opportunities (practice);
• Develop technical and design documentation (practice);
• Ensure proper usage of state-of-the-art frameworks and advising on other architecture solutions & technologies (expert).

Requirements

• Technical skills:
• Solid experience of backend development languages such as Java, GoLang, Kubernetes (expert);
• Notions of Jenkins and Ansible;
• Knowledge of Microservices design & development (expert);
• Knowledge in container platforms e.g. Docker and Kubernetes (practice);
• Knowledge in applying agile SCRUM method to projects with high added value (practice);
• Experience of REST API including its lifecycle management (expert).
• Language skills:
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is mandatory.

Work Model

Hybrid - 40% at the office and 60% remote
