Job summary

SERI, part of the Walter Group, designs and manufactures clamping devices and special-purpose machines for international customers. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our technical team in Vila do Conde, Portugal, to drive automation projects across the full lifecycle from design through installation and support.

You will develop electrical projects, create schematics, program PLCs (Siemens TIA Portal), participate in commissioning, and provide expert technical support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in industrial automation environments.
• Experience in PLC programming, preferably using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Experience in creating and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Professional proficiency in English (minimum B2 level).
• Strong interpersonal and customer-oriented skills.
• Availability for national and international travel.
