Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an Area Sales Professional to expand our service business in Portugal, covering installed base steam turbines and generators. You will lead commercial opportunities, manage key accounts, and drive projects from engagement to completion, collaborating with engineering, operations, and field service teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across the installed base of steam turbines and generators in Portugal, acting as their trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
• Identify, develop, and convert service opportunities related to maintenance, spare parts, upgrades, retrofits, and digital solutions, ensuring sustainable business growth and achievement of annual order intake targets.
• Prepare, negotiate, and close commercial proposals while collaborating with engineering, operations, field service teams, factories, and other stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans based on a deep understanding of customer operations, outage schedules, asset conditions, and future investment needs.
• Manage the full sales pipeline in Salesforce, maintain accurate forecasts, monitor market trends and competitor activities, and contribute to regional growth initiatives across South West Europe.
• Take commercial ownership of projects from order receipt through successful completion, ensuring effective sales-to-execution handover and alignment with customer expectations.
• Coordinate contractual requirements, project milestones, scope, schedule, and commercial commitments while supporting invoicing, payment milestones, and receivables management.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and field service organizations to ensure high-quality project execution and long-term customer satisfaction.

As an Area Sales Professional, you will be responsible for developing and growing Siemens Energy's service business for an installed base of steam turbines and generators across Portugal. Acting as the primary customer interface, you will combine commercial ownership, strategic account management, and service project execution to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth.

You will work closely with customers in the Oil & Gas, Biomass, and Waste-to-Energy sectors, understanding their operational challenges, outage plans, and investment priorities. By leveraging your technical expertise and commercial mindset, you will identify service opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and drive opportunities through the entire sales lifecycle, from first customer engagement to successful project execution.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Additional qualifications in Business Administration, Sales, Project Management, or Contract Management would be an advantage.
• 5+ years of professional experience in service sales, account management, business development, or customer-facing commercial roles within the power generation, industrial rotating equipment, or related industries.
• Proven track record of driving service sales growth, managing strategic customer relationships, and successfully closing complex commercial opportunities.
• Strong understanding of steam turbines, generators, rotating equipment, and the power generation service business.
• Experience developing technical and commercial solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, field service, operations, and manufacturing organizations.
• Solid knowledge of sales forecasting, pipeline management, CRM tools (preferably Salesforce), contract negotiation, and commercial management.
• Demonstrated project execution mindset with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage customer expectations, and ensure successful delivery of service projects.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent Portuguese and English are required; German would be considered a plus.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Portugal and occasionally across the South West Europe region.
