Job summary

act digital seeks an experienced Application/Production Support professional to maintain business-critical applications. You will ensure operational stability, standardisation and automation while coordinating technical changes across systems and teams.

Responsibilities include documenting architectures, supporting production deployments and participating in on-call rotations, with a hybrid work model in Porto or Lisbon 2x per week.

Qualifications

Job description

• 6–9 years of professional experience in Application Support / Production Support, preferably within critical production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL.
• Experience working in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with Shell scripting (KSH), Python and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as BMC Control-M or other industrial schedulers.
• Knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server and MySQL, with Oracle as the main database technology.
• Experience with application productionisation, standardisation, automation and industrialisation.
• Ability to understand and document software and technical architectures, application dependencies, operational procedures and monitoring requirements.
• Experience coordinating technical operations and changes in production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting production incidents.
• Ability to work closely with development, application maintenance, systems, database and network teams.
• Availability to work staggered schedules between 07:00 and 18:30 and participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Porto or Lisbon- 2x week.

Responsibilities

• Provide production and application support for business-critical applications.
• Ensure the operational stability, standardisation, automation and industrialisation of applications in production.
• Coordinate and monitor technical changes and production operations, including infrastructure-related activities such as server moves and planned shutdowns.
• Prepare, update and maintain operational instructions, technical procedures and support documentation.
• Document application components and their operation, including software architecture, technical architecture, dependencies, operational procedures and monitoring requirements.
• Support the productionisation and deployment of new application versions.
• Manage and monitor application treatment scheduling, including Control-M or equivalent scheduling platforms.
• Coordinate the commissioning of new application releases in collaboration with development and application maintenance teams.
• Work closely with Systems, Database and Network teams to ensure successful application deployments and operational continuity.
• Perform and support technical and functional activities required for application evolution in production.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation using Shell/KSH, Python and PowerShell where required.
• Perform database-related activities and troubleshooting using Oracle and PL/SQL, as well as other supported database technologies.
• Monitor production environments and proactively identify operational issues, failures and performance problems.
• Participate in the analysis and resolution of production incidents, ensuring appropriate escalation and coordination with technical teams.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and automation of production support processes.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, including weekend coverage, according to the defined support schedule.
